Spring Classics Week 1 2016
Tour of Flanders, Scheldeprijs and Paris Roubaix ride and watch

1st to 11th April 2016

For 2016, we will again be offering you the chance to spend 10 days at the Spring Classics. You will start the week doing the sportive version of the 2016 Tour of Flanders and after this you will see 2 fantastic races, the 2016 Tour of Flanders pro race which is the 100th edition and the 2016 Scheldeprijs before riding the 2016 Roubaix Challenge and watching the 2016 Paris Roubaix Pro race.

Planned itinerary:

Friday 1st April:
Please arrange your own flight to Brussels airport where we come to collect you. To do this, we have to receive your flight arrival and departure times. We will operate transfers from Brussels airport at 11.00 and at 16.00 to avoid some of the heavy traffic.

Please note that we cannot accommodate airport transfers for flights arriving after 16:00.

We spend 6 nights on a Bed and Breakfast basis at the centrally located Hotel NH Ghent Belfort. The hotel is in the centre of Ghent. At the hotel you will be able to put your bike together and store your bike and get prepared for the Sportive tomorrow.

If you have booked to take part in the 2016 Tour of Flanders cyclo and you have booked your entry through us, we will have your entry info and bib number ready for you on arrival at the hotel. Please note that if you get your own entry, you will have to queue up in the morning before the race.

We accommodate all distances so the long distance which starts from Brugge and finishes in Oudenaarde plus the shorter distances which start and finish in Oudenaarde.

Tour of Flanders 2014 Saturday 2nd April - Tour of Flanders Sportive
In the morning after an early breakfast we will transport you to the start of the Tour of Flanders sportive.

There will be the option of taking part in either the 259km, 133km or 83km Tour of Flanders cyclo event that follows the latter part of the pro race race route including all the famous climbs. There will be numerous organised feeding stations and mechanical service present.

133km and 83km riders will be taken to Oudenaarde and 259km ull distance riders will be transported to Brugge.

All distances will finish in Oudenaarde. Be careful to stop at the correct finish line however as the official finish for tomorrow's Pro race is crossed by you before you cross the finish of the Tour of Flanders Sportive. At the finish we will be waiting for you with a well-deserved drink and sandwich.

For those not riding the Sportive, the Saturday will be at leisure in the city of Ghent.

Tour of Flanders 2014 Sunday 3rd April: The 100th Tour of Flanders Pro race
Today is the 100th edition of the Tour of Flanders Professional race for both Men and Women.

We will go to Oudenaarde where you can enjoy a full schedule of race-day events including the presentation and the start of the women's race plus you can see the men come past once before watching the men's and womens's finishes later in the day also in Oudenaarde. There are large TV screens, food stalls, beer tents, everything you need for a day at the bike races.

There is also a free shuttle service to the Oude Kwaremont which runs until 12.30 where you will be able to see the riders of the men's race come past 3 times.

After the race finishes we will take you back to to Ghent from Oudenaarde.

Monday 4th April:
We hope to repeat previous year’s programme where we went for a ride over to one of the hotels where some of the Pro teams are staying. Usually mechanics will be working on bikes and we will have the chance to chat and take some pictures. After this we will go for a short ride past the Schelde river and return to the hotel

Tuesday 5th April:
After breakfast we will go for a ride this morning and experience the peace and tranquility of the Belgian country side. We will ride to the famous 'Muur van Geraardsbergen' which featured so prominently in many editions of the Tour of Flanders but hasn't been for the last few years.

We will climb the Mur de Gramont which used to be one of the final climbs of the Tour of Flanders where we will take some good photos and we will have time for some lunch.

In the afternoon we will take the coach to visit the Tour of Flanders museum in Oudenaarde where we will have a guided visit with cycling legend and multiple World Champion, Freddie Maertens.

We will finish the day with the unmissable Belgian Beer brewery visit. You can sample some beers and taste some local cheese and snacks during our guided visit. Don't worry, we will use our minibuses for this.

Wednesday the 6th of April: The 2016 Scheldeprijs
Today we travel to Antwerpen for the start of the 2016 Scheldeprijs. We will ride out with those of you who want to ride today. We plan to catch the race 3 times before returning to the finish where we can follow the race on a large TV screen 100m from the finish. Following the race we will take the minibuses back to Ghent.

Thursday 7th April:
After breakfast today we travel from Ghent to Valenciennes (France) where we spend 4 nights with evening meal, bed and breakfast included at the Hotel Mercure Valenciennes.

As it will be busy in Valenciennes, we will reserve a restaurant for lunch ahead of arrival at the hotel. (payable localy)

This afternoon we will ride over to Inchy and we will ride from Inchy to the Forest of Arenberg on the cobbles. If you are riding the Roubaix Challenge on Saturday then this will be your opportunity to train on the cobbles and play around with tyre presssures.

Friday 8th April:
After breakfast, we will ride to the end of the Forest of Arenberg. At the end of the Forest we will watch the various Pro Teams come past on their reconnaissance day. Usually, many of the teams will stop for a chat and photos.

We will then load the bikes onto the coach and we will travel to Roubaix and we can take some photos of the Velodrome. You will have the opportunity to buy some souvenirs from the Roubaix club shop like a cobble on a plinth.

Saturday 9th April: 2016 Paris Roubaix Challenge
After an early breakfast, we will take you down to the start of the 2016 Paris Roubaix Challenge. At the end, we'll be there for you at the finish in the Velodrome in Roubaix. In 2015 the showers were open to the public so hopefully you can get access again.

After everybody has finished, we will take you back to the hotel in Valenciennes so we are well located to see the race the day after.

All distances will start from Roubaix apart from the long distance will will start from Busigny. Both of which are about 45 minutes to 1 hour from Valenciennes.

Sunday 10th April: 2016 Paris Roubaix Pro race
You will be taken to the start in Compiegne, after which using our expert knowledge of the race route you will see a number of pave sections and the finish on the Velodrome at Roubaix. After the finish you will return to our hotel in Valenciennes.

Monday 11th April:
After breakfast we will travel to Brussels airport. Please book your flights after 12:00. We will run 1 transfer back to the airport.
