In 2015 the Tour of Flanders Sportive sold out so ensure you get your entry in advance through us and we will collect your entry for you and have it waiting for you at your hotel on arrival in Ghent.
Planned itinerary for the 2016 event:
Friday the 1st of April:
East Coast Coach:
We will take a sailing from Dover to Calais and arrive in Ghent at approximately 20.00hrs where we spend 3 nights on bed and breakfast basis at the centrally located hotel Ibis Centrum Opera in Ghent.West Coast Coach:
We will take a sailing from Dover to Calais and arrive in Ghent at approximately 20.00hrs where we spend 3 nights on bed and breakfast basis at the centrally located hotel Ibis Centrum Opera in Ghent.South Coast Coach:
We will take a sailing from Dover to Calais and arrive in Ghent at approximately 20.00hrs where we spend 3 nights on bed and breakfast basis at the centrally located hotel Ibis Centrum Kathedraal in Ghent.Brussels Airport:
If you want to come and join us in Belgium without taking the coach from the UK, we will also be running a transfer from the airport to our hotel in Ghent. Note that this is a 3 night trip. Please advise us of your flight details at the time of booking and we will come and collect you from Brussels airport at either 11.00 or at 16.00. Airport transfers for flights after 16:00 cannot be accommodated. On departure we provide one single transfer back to Brussels airport straight after breakfast for flights after 12:00.
If you choose this option then you will be staying at the Hotel Ibis Kathedraal in the city centre of Ghent on bed and breakfast basis.Self drive:
If you decide to make your own way to Ghent and you come and meet us at the hotel, then please advise us of this in advance. We will still provide your entry on arrival and we will still be able to provide in-resort transfers on Sportive day and on Pro race day. We advise you to arrange your parking in advance.
Your Flanders Sportive Entry:
Saturday the 2nd of April:
In the morning after an early breakfast we will load the bikes and make our way to the Qubus in Oudenaarde where the start will be of today's Tour of Flanders sportive. Full distance riders will take the coach over to Brugge.
There will be the option of taking part in either the 259km, 133km or 83km Tour of Flanders cyclo sportive event that follows the latter part of the race route including all the famous climbs.
Those who take part in the 259km big one will be taken to the start of the race in Brugge, aproximately 55km away from Ghent. The other 2 distances will start from Oudenaarde which is about 30km from Ghent.
All distances will finish in Oudenaarde. Be careful to stop at the correct finish line however as the official finish for tomorrow's Pro race is crossed by you before you cross the finish of the Tour of Flanders Sportive. At the finish we will be waiting for you with a well-deserved drink and sandwich.
For those not riding the Sportive, the Saturday will be at leisure in the city of Ghent.
Sunday the 3rd of April:
We will take you to Oudenaarde for about 09.00 where you can enjoy a full schedule of race-day events including the presentation and the start of the women's race plus you can see the men come past once before watching the men's and womens's finishes later in the day also in Oudenaarde. There are large TV screens, food stalls, beer tents, everything you need for a day at the bike races.
There is also a free shuttle service to the Oude Kwaremont which runs until 12.30 where you will be able to see the riders of the men's race come past 3 times.
After the race finishes we will take the coach back to Ghent from Oudenaarde.
Monday the 4th of April:
Return home, taking an afternoon sailing to Dover, with approximate arrival times of- London 16.00hrs, Birmingham 19.00hrs, Manchester 21.00hrs, Leeds 22.00hrs.
