The Etape Caledonia 2012 comes in the middle of May, and covers 81 miles of the Perthshire Highlands, making it the perfect domestic UK preparation for any European cyclo sportive, including the Etape du Tour.

With almost 2,000 metres of climbing it is no easy ride and will be a good indicator of how your training is going before you venture abroad. Plus you have the added attraction of cycling in Scotland, home of great scenery and culture.

The 2012 Etape Caledonia will probably be the most popular edition of this fast growing cyclo sportive in Scotland. It is the foremost closed road sportive in the UK.

Typical Itinerary:
Friday 11th May:
Travel to Pitlochry and check in.

Saturday 12th May:
Today, you can register and then enjoy the highlights of Pitlochry, a wonderful and interesting Scottish town. Maybe take the chance to have a ride out and stretch your legs.

Sunday 13th May:
We antipate a 06:45 start for the Etape Caledonia. Although the roads are closed for 6.15 hours, allowing you time to complete the course, if you are outside of this time, then you can continue to ride, but on open roads. There is an age limit range of 18-80 to participate in the Etape Caledonia.

Upon return to your hotel, you can choose to do what you wish, whether relax in the bath or celebrate!

Monday 14th May:
Check out of the hotel and head home.
Although your hotel on half board basis is included, you need to choose the Entry option if you require and entry, and if you wish to hire one of our Sportive bikes, please choose which size.

Also consider whether you need travel insurance.
