The Chainreactioncycles.com Quebrantahuesos or “la quebranta”, as this granfondo or cyclosportive is commonly called takes place the third Saturday of June in the Pyrenees, starting from and finishing in Sabiñánigo. This is a relatively long and hard cyclo-sportive in the Spanish and French Pyrenees.

The race distance is 205km and there will be 3500 metres of vertical ascent on the menu.

The route will take you over the following three main climbs:

Col du Somport (1604m)
Col du Marie Blanque (1035m)
Col du Portalet (1795m)

Planned Itinerary:
Grand Hotel Jaca

The Gran Hotel in Jaca is a comfortable 3 star hotel with good facilities like an on site restaurant, free WIFI in public areas, an outdoor swimming pool, bike storage, parking and air conditioning.

This hotel is 17km away from Sabinanigo, the location of the start and finish. We will ride downhill to the start and we will run shuttle services back to the hotel after the event finish.

Thursday 20 June:
Please arrange your own flight to Barcelona airport today. There are many different airlines to choose from from the UK and other countries. At time of booking, please let us know your flight time. We will depart the airport at 1500 and we expect the transfer to take about 3.5 hours.

The airport transfer from Barcelona airport to Sabinanigo is included in the price of the travel package but you can choose to make your own arrangements and come and meet us at the hotel if you wish. Should you do this, please let us know so we are not waiting for you at the airport.

On arrival at the 3 star Grand Hotel in Jaca we will enjoy a nice evening meal together. We will be staying at this hotel for 3 nights on a half board meal basis so with breakfast and evening meal included.

Friday 21 June:
After a leisurely breakfast we will build our bikes and get them ready for tommorrow's event. Also today, we will have a group ride to Sabinanigo to register and pick up race numbers. In the afternoon, there is time to go for a ride together and recce some of the course. Evening meal at the hotel followed by a race briefing by our bike guides.
Saturday 22 June 2013 - Quebrantahuesos 2013

We expect the start to be at 0730 so after an arly breakfast we will ride the short distance from Jaca downhill to the start of the 2013 Quebrantahuesos.

We can offer you start numbers in the front grid or normal start numbers.
The order of starts will be:

VIP riders in the front grid (entries available)
Riders with the best recorded times in the last 3 editions
Sponsors
All other participants
Treparriscos Medio Fondo participants

Day packs - You can wear some warmer clothes to ride to the start and we will collect these from you to have ready at the finishline.

At the finishline, we will be there to welcome you in and we will run shuttles back to the hotel as you will not want to ride back to the hotel after finishing. We will enjoy a well deserved evening meal together.

Sunday 23 June:
After an early breakfast we will return back to Barcelona for flights after 1500 to connect with our airport transfer.
