New for 2014 is the Tour du Ventoux, a cycling festival around the 'Giant of Provence', Le Mont Ventoux. We now give you the opportunity to ride the Tour du Ventoux which is a 3 day festival of cycling around the Ventoux area. Sports Tours International are official travel partners to the 2014 Tour du Ventoux.
Here at Sports Tours we are always on the look out for new events to propose to our customers.
Tour du Ventoux
Ride in the tracks of 2014 Tour de France winner, Chris Froome and ride the Tour du Ventoux. At 1912 m, the Mont Ventoux towers impressively above Vaucluse and offers a stunning view over the Provence. The mountain can be conquered from 3 different directions; from the nearby villages of Bédoin, Malaucène or Sault.
This weekend of cycling consists of riding one of two routes around the landscape of Mont Ventoux on your first day followed by a timed ascent of the Giant of Provence on day two.
We will have a choice of 2 routes around the wonderful landscape of the Mont ventoux on Friday the 19th of September:
The 84km option takes in 1695m of elevation and takes you from Mazan to Mazan over Methamis, Sault, Gorges de la Nesque and Mazan
The more challenging 108km option takes in 1943m of elevation and follows the route: Mazan, Vanasque, Col de Murs, St Saturnin, Sault, Gorges de la Nesque and back to Mazan.
On Saturday you have the opportunity to get your ascent of Mont ventoux and get your own personal time.
During the 3 days you will have the opportunity to take part in different cycling events around Mont Ventoux. Over the course of three days the historic villages Malaucène and Mazan will become a second home to cyclists from all over Europe.
