Planned itinerary:

Saturday 28th of June:
You will arrive at the hotel today or take the option to fly into Geneva Airport and make use of our transport. We will be operating one transfer at 14:00 from the airport to our hotel Belledonne. It takes around 2.5 hours to complete the journey to the hotel. There will be an evening meal at the hotel tonight where you can meet your fellow riders and our staff.

We will have done your registration for tomorrow's event for you and your numbers will be waiting for you.

Sunday 29th of June - The Vaujany Master
After an early breakfast our minibus with bike rack will take you up to Le Verney which is about 10km up the hill from the hotel. We will make sure that we get there in time for you to get into your pen. The start is at 07.15.

At Valbonais and Alpe d'Huez we will be waiting for you to hand you any items that you may need like energy products, items of clothing etc. At the finish we will shuttle people back to the hotel depending on the finish time.

This evening enjoy a rest and a massage at the hotel plus the evening meal.

Monday 30th of June:
After having breakfast together we will leave this morning free. We will take the minibus and have a look around either Bourg d'Oisans or Grenoble if the group wants to venture a bit further afield.

In the afternoon we will go for a short ride along the Isere valley either towards grenoble or towards the Col du Lautaret. The evening meal will be together at the hotel tonight.

Tuesday 1st of July:
After breakfast we will gauge how you are feeling and we can do a number of things as there are so many different cols within easy access. One option would be to ride from the hotel to Les Deux Alps, the scene of one of Marco Pantani's great victories. The outdoor pool there is great. If you are skiers or snowboarders you may even want to hire some skis and go up to the Glacier for a ski in the morning.

After today's activities we will return to the hotel and have the evening meal together.

Wednesday 2nd of July - Prix des Rousses
Today is the Prix des Rousses which is a 40km timed ride between Bourg d'Oisans and Vaujany. We will take you over to Bourg for the start at 09.00.

After everyone has finished in Vaujany we will collect you and take you back to the hotel. This afternoon is again at leisure and you can have a massage again if you wish.

Thursday 3rd July:
After breakfast please be ready with your suitcases and your bikes to head up to Alpe d'Huez as the Marmotte is coming ever closer. We suggest that we take your cases up there for you and that you ride up there today as we will not be able to check in until 12.00.

For those who want to, we can make today into a bit of a longer ride and go as far as the Col du Lautaret before heading up the Alpe.

This evening all those who are riding the Marmotte will be arrving in Alpe d'Huez.

Friday 4th July:
Registration will be on Thursday between 14.00 and 20.00 and Friday from 10.00 until 20.00. This will be in the Palais des Sports in Alpe d'Huez. There will be plenty of time today to make some last minute bike adjustments if required. Our staff will be on hand to assist you.

This evening there will be race briefings at each individual hotel.

Saturday 5th July - Gran Fondo La Marmotte 2014
The start of La Marmotte is in Bourg d'Oisans so after an early breakfast you ride down to the start before undertaking the 174km of the 2014 Gran Fondo La Marmotte. As it can be chilly on the way down you will want to wear some warm clothes for the descent. We will take the clothes that you use for the descent from you and keep in our vehicle for you and take it back to the hotel.

Sunday 6th July - La Grimpee de L'Alp
Today you will have the option of participating in the Grimpee de L'Alpe, a 13km event to get your very own time climbing Alpe d'Huez. Ride your bike down to the start from the hotel and try to set a PB on the timed ascent of the Alpe.

Monday 7th July:
After breakfast, leave the hotels or opt for our transfer back to Geneva Airport, with it leaving at 07:00 and arriving at the airport around 10:00. We advise not to book any flights before 12:00.

Useful Information:

Day bag service:
You can give us items that you want to have available in the race when you stop at our first STI support station at 1km from the summit of the Col du Galibier so you don't have to carry it all the way with you. You have to use the bag we give to you for this purpose. This could be food, energy drink etc. We will not be able to transport items in between different support stations on the day.
Please note that all these items have to be disposable or you need to use them as we can't bring them back.

Descent to Bourg d'Oisans:
In the morning it can be chilly on the way down to ths start. We can collect the items you use on the descent from you. We will be located 100m before the roundabout at the bottom of the Alpe d'Huez descent. Please note that we can not be held responsible for the loss of any valuable items so please don't put any valuables in the bags. We will not be able to transport items in between different support stations. The bags will be kept and delivered back at night.

Just like the Etape du Tour, there are rolling road closures, feed stops etc, before finishing in Alpe d'Huez. You will get your own personal time for the event, together with a classification. This is what people riding the Marmotte strive for - will you get a gold, silver or bronze? Our hotels are well situated in Alpe d'Huez, so you wont have too far to go afterwards from the finish. Upon return to your hotel, you can choose to do what you wish, so either relax or celebrate!

Like in 2013, we will have massage therapists available pre- and post event. You can put your name down for this on arrival. The price last year was €20 for 20 minutes and payable locally. Included for Trophee d'Oisans riders

Support stations:
We will do 2 STI support stations. Our first station will be at 1km from the top of the Galibier and we will have food and drink here as well as the items that you want to give us to have available for you. Our second support station will be on bend 7 on the final climb to Alpe d'Huez. We will have drinks and gels only here (and a friendly face and encouragement).

Please note that if you want to get round in a good time, it pays to be as self sufficient as possible and to keep stops quick and efficient.
