The third event
in the 2008 Balearic Series will be the 8th Tour of Menorca. As an
end of season event, it often attracts several “big
name” riders who just want a pleasant ride round one of the Balearic
Islands, and a little sunshine. Now is your chance to join them.
The trip includes a full week in Menorca to fit in with several airline
schedules, and offers the opportunity for some gentle ciclo-tourism
before the events of the Volta at the weekend.
Itinerary:
Tuesday 21st October
Arrive for the short transfer to the 3 star hotel on the outskirts
of Mao, and three days of relaxing riding around the island at
your leisure.
Friday 24th October
Friday afternoon features a gentle “informal” ride of
45km (approximately) finished off with an evening reception and entertainment
for riders and accompanying partners/guests.
Saturday 25th October
Slightly more serious day today, with a ride out and back to/from
Mao, covering 120km (approx) around Ciutadella. departing at 9am
it is an early start, but a subsequent early finish, for a relaxing
afternoon at the hotel, or on the beach.
Sunday 26th October
The final stage from Mao to Monte Toro and back covers approximately
70km, departing at 8.45am. In the afternoon there is the closing
celebrations, trophy presentation, and entertainment.
We will have our own celebration event in the evening and the award
for the Balearic Series champion, who wins an all expenses paid trip
to watch the Challenge a Mallorca in 2009.

Tuesday 28th October
Sadly time to return home.
All events and times/distances are approximate at this stage.

FLIGHTS NOT INCLUDED
Sports Tours will arrange your flights to meet the transfers,
using low-cost carriers from the major airports
You may book your own flights, but may be delayed awaiting
transfers and other clients on additional flights – there
is no charge for the booking of flights, so no disadvantage
to yourselves.
