You will spend 3 nights on L’Alpe d’Huez at the Hotel Belle Aurore and from its privileged location, 1km from the finish you will see the most crucial and definitely the most exciting stage of the 2008 Tour de France. The night of the stage you will be one of the privileged people to have hotel accommodation on the Alpe and the next day we shall see the stage start from Bourg d’Oisans. There will also be the opportunity to fly by helicopter from Alpe d’Huez to see the previous mountain stage to Jausiers which climbs the Col de Bonette-Restefond (2,802mts Europes highest pass). Please enquire for details if interested. You will have the opportunity to bring your bike and ride both the Col du Galibier and the 21 hairpin switchbacks of L’Alpe d’Huez. You can arrange your own flight to Geneva airport, where our reps will meet you and take you to our hotel on L’Alpe d’Huez. From the UK there are numerous budget airlines that fly into Geneva airport (book early to take advantage of cheap flights). Monday 21st July: Arrange your own flight into Geneva, where we shall meet you and at 13.00hrs & 18.00hrs we will operate transfers from the airport to the ski station of L’Alpe d’Huez, where we have reserved privileged accommodation at the Hotel Belle Aurore for 3 nights on Half Board basis (Dinner B&B). The hotel is a typical ski hotel (not luxurious) but its position for watching the biggest stage of the 2008 Tour de France is perfect. The hotel overlooks the stage route and is located approx 1km from the stage finish. Tuesday 22nd July: For those with bikes, they will have the opportunity of climbing
some of cyclings most mythical climbs as the Col du Lauteret and Galibier
as well as L’Alpe d’Huez are within easy cycling distance from the
hotel. For those without bikes there will be plenty to do at L’Alpe
d’Huez as the ski station prepares to welcome Le Tour, the party atmosphere
will be electric. Or why not take the cable car from L’Alpe d’Huez
up to Pic Blanc, at a staggering 3,600mt you feel like your on top
of the world. Wednesday 23rd July: Thursday 24th July: As Official Tour Operator of the Tour de France we can offer an exclusive package where you spend the morning at the riders start village in Bourg d’Oisans, after which you travel the whole stage route to St Etienne moving in and out of the publicity caravan experiencing the special atmosphere of the crowd. When you get to the finish in St Etienne you will your place in the exclusive VIP Izoard hospitality bus located very close to the finish line. Here you will have hostess service of drinks and snacks whilst watching the stage live on T.V. and after seeing the stage finish from this exclusive viewing area champagne will be served to celebrate the stage winner. After a memorable experience you will be taken to Geneva for your flight or Hotel.
