This is what some of our MS riders had to say…

“Was it tough? Oh yes. It was very tough but a very enjoyable experience, one that I won’t forget for a long time. The riders, the crowds, the closed roads, the scenery, the ice cold water that people were pouring over our heads on the Tourmalet! Everything made for a superb experience.”

“Onwards and ever upwards, the end was in sight but I was really struggling now with 2km to go, and for the first time since I got a place in the Etape du Tour I questioned whether I was going to make it. My legs were telling me to stop, my head was saying otherwise. There were loads of spectators on the climb, cheering and shouting encouragement. I got back on the bike determined to ride the last bit. Round the penultimate corner, 250 metres to go, a big push, round a right hand bend and there it was, the finish line. Made it.”

“Finally the finish was in sight and I managed to complete the last 500 metres without stopping. I turned the last bend, crossed the line and practically collapsed. I got off the bike, sat down at the side of the road and cried. It took me a long time to get myself together, take in the stunning surroundings and fully appreciate the achievement of completing this special ride.”

“Etape organisation great, scenery great, ride tough. I loved every minute and it was great to be part of the MS team!”
