Sunday 13th July: [Live the Dream ] Ride a Pyrenean
stage of the Tour de France
Have you ever dreamed of riding a stage of the Tour de France,
crossing the finish line with your hands in the air, and climb
the Tour de France podium to have the yellow jersey put on? Well
dream no more, with our [Live the Dream] package, dreams
become reality.

After an early breakfast we shall leave Toulouse in the support
vehicles and travel out onto the stage route, and commence to
ride the last 130km of the stage.
Dressed in Graham Baxter Sporting Tours cycling kit you will ride the small
climbs of the Col de Buret and Col des Ares before tackling the famous 1st Category
climbs of the Col du Peyresourde and Col d’Aspin. We feel that we have chosen
a great stage for you to ride, very challenging but not impossible to complete,
but you need to be trained and in condition. However, if you can’t ride the
whole stage it’s not a problem, you will travel part of the stage in the
support vehicle and ride the rest.
Not only is it the 1st High Mountain stage of the
tour, it is a Sunday stage and on Bastille Day weekend (French
National holiday) so the atmosphere along the route will be fantastic
and the crowds will be out their thousands to cheer you along “Le
Route du Tour”.
You will be supported throughout the ride by 2 Graham Baxter Sporting
Tours officially accredited vehicles and for the last 20km you will be
escorted to the finish line in Bagneres de Bigorre by an official Tour
de France vehicle.
On arrival in Bagneres de Bigorre you will have the exclusive right to cross
the finish line and afterwards have your photo taken on the Tour de France
podium. After our own protocol ceremonies you will get changed and await
the arrival of the Tour de France stage itself. We shall see the stage finish
in Bagneres de Bigorre from a very privileged location, 5mts from the finish
line and next to the Official Tour de France commentator Daniel Manges. This
is standing access only.
After the stage finish we shall travel the short distance to Lourdes and
the excellent 4* Hotel Elieso, where we shall spend the next 3 nights on
Dinner, Bed & Breakfast basis.
Our location in Lourdes is excellent for accessing tomorrow’s mountain stage
to Hautacam via the mythical Col du Tourmalet.
Monday 14th July: See TDF stage to Hautacam
The 2nd Pyrenean stage is fairly short by Tour de France
standards, only 155km, but will be very tense from the outset.
Crammed into the 154km stage are two of the most feared climbs
in the Pyrenees, the mythical Col du Tourmalet (2,115mts) and
the super steep climb to Hautacam.
Our location in Lourdes is excellent for accessing today’s stage, and we
shall ride and see the stage on either the Col du Tourmalet or the final
climb to Hautacam.
After seeing the stage in our chosen location we shall return to our hotel
in Lourdes.
Tuesday 15th July: TDF REST DAY
After 10 days of hard racing the Tour de France spends its
first rest day in the Pyrenean town of Pau. This will give us
the opportunity to take to the mountains and ride either the
famous mountains of the Col du Tourmalet, Col d’Aubisque, or
to the ski stations of Luz Ardiden & Pla d’Adet which often
play host to the Tour de France. There will also be the possibility
to ride to Pau and visit the teams.
Wednesday 16th July: Exclusive access to start
village & riders enclosure
The 3rd Pyrenean stage of the Tour de France is
a medium mountain stage that starts in Lannemazan and faces the
climb of the Col de la Crouzette en-route to Foix.
After breakfast you will be taken to the town of Lannemazan where you will
have VIP access to the official start village and riders enclosure. Here
you will get to meet the Tour de France riders and other cycling legends.
After seeing off the Tour de France riders, we shall return to Toulouse and
spend our final night in the city centre at a 3* Hotel.
Thursday 17th July:
After spending an unforgettable week in Les Pyrenees following the Tour de
France as a VIP its time to say “Au revoir” and return to Toulouse airport.
We shall take you to Toulouse airport to meet your flight departure requirements.
