Le Grand Depart - Weekend in Yorkshire
4th to 7th July 2014
This travel package to the start of the 2014 Tour de France will be based at the Yorkshire market town of Harrogate for 2 nights. Harrogate is a fantastic place to be based with good access to the first 2 stages of the 2014 Tour de France with numerous non-cycling activities on offer as well as a quaint old town to visit.
This travel package is for those of you who don't have lots of time to spend and want to make their own way to Harrogate to join us for the 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart in Yorkshire.
Please note that if you want to join us for the next stages of the 2014 Tour de France after you have seen the UK stages, you can join us in France on Tuesday the 8th of July for the rest of the 2014 Tour de France.
Friday the 4th of July
Please make your own arrangements and come and meet us at the hotel in Harrogate. If you aim to arrive mid-afternoon, our representatives will be at the hotel to welcome you.
Before the evening meal we will hold a welcome meeting to introduce our staff and to present the program for the next few days.

Saturday the 5th of July - Stage 1: Leeds to Harrogate - 190km
The 101st edition of the Tour de France will start today from the city of Leeds. The first stage of the 2014 Tour will be a 190km stage from Leeds to Harrogate. From our location in Harrogate we will travel the short distance to see the stage start. Those with bikes will be able to take part in our group ride to a vantage point along the route.
We will be in place to watch the stage finish in Harrogate and we will transfer the very short distance back to our hotel to have dinner in the evening.
Sunday the 6th of July - Stage 2: York to Sheffield - 200km
The second stage of the 2014 Tour de France will be a difficult stage of 200km. From our base in Knaresborough we will travel to see the the stage pass through this mountaineous area of the UK. The riders will need their climbing legs today. There will be 1050m of ascent in the final 60 kilometers. The last climb of the day is only 5km from the finish. The climbs today include Cragg Vale, the longest continuous ascent in England. Also featuring is Holme Moss.
Those with bikes will be able to take our guided group ride to the main climb of the day. For those who don't want to ride this distance, we can take you part of the way in the support vehicle and ride the rest. Those without bikes will be driven there.
After seeing the stage, those who have booked and extra night will be taken back to the hotel. Those who have made their own arrangements will be dropped off in Harrogate.
Monday the 7th of July - Departure day
After breakfast please check out of the hotel and depart.

Twin to share:
If you would like to join us as a single traveller but you want to avoid the single supplement then you can make use of our 'twin to share' option. We will pair you up with another rider (of the same sex) and you can enjoy the event without having to pay extra. Simply click on the green button and select the twin to share option.

At time of booking we require a non-refundable deposit per person plus any applicable entry fee. The balance of your travel package must be paid, at the latest, 12 weeks before departure to avoid the cancellation of your trip.
For travellers from the EU, visas are not required to enter the UK. You need a passport to enter the UK or a European identity card. All non-UK passport holders must check their own country's entry requirements for the UK. General Travel Information is also available.
