Harrogate is a fantastic place to be based with good access to the first 2 stages of the 2014 Tour de France with numerous non-cycling activities on offer as well as a quaint old town to visit.

Please note that if you want to join us for the next stages of the 2014 Tour de France after you have seen the UK stages, you can join us in France on Tuesday the 8th of July for the rest of the 2014 Tour de France

Wednesday the 2nd of July
Please arrange your own flight to London Heathrow airport. Please arrange to be there in time to meet us before our coach leaves at 14h00. We have a designated meeting room at the airport where you can come and meet us, have a drink, freshen up and wait for the coach departure. We will confirm the exact location at a later time.

Our local guides will meet you and at 14h00 we will take you to the market town of Harrogate which is approximately 4 hours from the airport. We will spend 4 days in Harrogate at the 4* Crown Hotel on a half board basis.

We aim to arrive at the hotel in time for the evening meal.

Thursday the 3rd of July
Today will be a free day to explore the surrounding area either by foot or on your bike. Our bike guides will offer you the opportunity to accompany them on guided bike rides round this beautiful area of the UK.

The Tour de France team presentation takes place today and we will offer an optional evening excursion from Harrogate over to Leeds for this event. This transfer will take 20 minutes approximately. This will likely take place early evening so we will organise a late evening meal at the hotel. Please note that this is likely to be a ticketed event so an extra charge to attend this event will need to be paid for separately.

Friday the 4th of July
Today will be a free day to explore the surrounding area either by foot or on your bike. Our bike guides will offer you the opportunity to accompany them on guided bike rides round this beautiful area of the UK.

Saturday the 5th of July - Stage 1: Leeds to Harrogate - 190km
The 101st edition of the Tour de France will start today from the city of Leeds. The first stage of the 2014 Tour will be a 190km flat stage from Leeds to Harrogate. From our location in Harrogate we will travel the short distance to see the stage start. Those with bikes will be able to take part in our group ride to a vantage point along the route.

We will be in place to watch the stage finish in Harrogate and we will stroll back to our hotel to have dinner in the evening.

Sunday the 6th of July - Stage 2: York to Sheffield - 200km
The second stage of the 2014 Tour de France will be a difficult stage of 200km. From our base in Harrogate we will travel to see the the stage pass through this mountaineous area of the UK. The riders will need their climbing legs today. There will be 1050m of ascent in the final 60 kilometers. The last climb of the day is only 5km from the finish. The climbs today include Cragg Vale, the longest continuous ascent in England. Also featuring is Holme Moss.

Those with bikes will be able to take our guided group ride to the main climb of the day. For those who don't want to ride this distance, we can take you part of the way in the support vehicle and ride the rest. Those without bikes will be driven.

After seeing the stage we will make our way to London so we are in place for tomorrow's stage. Tonight we will stay at the Thistle Kensington Gardens within walking distance of the Mall where the finish will be tomorrow.
