Maratona dles Dolomites Cycling Holiday

3rd to 7th July 2014

Travel packages to the Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel 2014. One of the most iconic Italian cycling events. Please note that we only have a limited amount of entries so book now to avoid disappointment.

We will be staying at the excellent hotel Ciasa Soleil in Alta Badia on a Half Board food basis.

The Hotel facilities include:

  • Access to panoramic swimming pool and garden whirlpool with a unique view over the mountains.
  • Solarium terrace
  • Fitness room and sauna
  • Lockable bike storage
  • Breakfast buffet
  • Evening salad buffet with 2 menu choices, Tirolean dinner night and dessert buffet once weekly

The hotel is in La Villa which is 500m from the start and 4.5km from the finish which is in Corvara. The expo and registration are in S. Leonardo/ Badia which is about 4.5km away from the hotel as well.

Planned itinerary:

Thursday 3rd of July:
Maratona Dles Dolomites LogoArrange your own flight to Venice Marco Polo or Treviso airport. You will be met on arrival by our Sports Tours bike guide. At 14h30 from Marco Polo and 15h15 from Treviso (same coach) we will run an airport transfer from the airport to the resort of Alta Badia for you and your bike. The transfer is likely to take about 3 hours so we advise you to bring some food and drink with you.

On arrival and before dinner we will get together for an introductory meeting over a free welcome drink and a chance to get to know everybody on the trip.

Our bike guide will do a briefing during dinner.

Friday 4th of July:
After breakfast, our bike guide will assist you with unpacking and re-assembling your bike. Today we will ride part of sunday's course during a recce ride. We will ride this as a group if you wish to join but this is optional.

In the evening our guide will be on hand for any assistance you may require.

Saturday 5th of July:
Today we will ride the short distance down to the race expo and registration area. You can sample the atmosphere and the rest of the day is free for you to rest before tomorrow's event or go for a short ride. Sunday 6th of July:
This is it, Maratona day. You will be one of the lucky 9000 who has an entry for this event. After an early breakfast, we will ride the short distance to the start (500m). The start is at 06h30 but you ahve to be in your pen before 06h15 as this is when the organisers close the pens. If you arrive after this time, youw ill be automatically re-directed to the last pen.

After the finish we will get together at the hotel to see how everybody did over a few beers followed by the evening meal.

Monday 7th of July:
Early morning transfer from the hotel to Venice Marco Polo and Treviso airports for your return flight. Please book flights that depart after 14h00 in the afternoon.

Extra Nights:
We are able to offer extra nights in our hotel at a rate of £50.00 per person per night.

Twin to share:
If you would like to join us as a single traveller but you want to avoid the single supplement then you can make use of our 'twin to share' option. We will pair you up with another rider (of the same sex) and you can enjoy the event without having to pay extra. Simply click on the green button and select the twin to share option.

Bike hire:
Where we do not offer our own bike hire fleet, we can introduce you to a number of local bike hire companies who may be able to provide you with a bike for the duration of your trip with us.

At time of booking we require a non-refundable deposit per person plus any applicable entry fee. The balance of your travel package must be paid, at the latest, 12 weeks before departure to avoid the cancellation of your trip.

Important Information:
Visas are not required to enter Italy. You need a passport to enter these countries. As a British passport holder you may stay as a visitor for three months. General Travel Information is also available.
All other non-UK passport holders must check their own country's entry requirements for Italy.
