Challenges / Long Distance Rides (Randonees) 2012
Our Cycling
Challenges holidays are a series of "Raids",
such as the Raid Corsica, Raid
Pyrenean, Raid
Alpine, and Raid Dolomite.
On
most Randonnees, you
are provided with a "carnet" which must be stamped
at pre-determined points to
prove you have completed the Raid.
These are then returned by us to the organisers
after which you will receive a medal for your efforts.
A
van will carry your luggage each day from overnight stop to overnight
stop, and where possible act as a back up for serious mechanical
breakdowns.
Tower 2 Tower 2012 Charity Cycling Challenge (Blackpool to Paris) (August 2012)
Join our Tower 2 Tower charity cycle challenge and ride from Blackpool Tower to Eiffel Tower in Summer 2012.
The trip starts on the 28th July in Blackpool and will snake its way down through England and over the English Channel, before finally arriving in Paris at the Eiffel Tower on Saturday 4th August.
The Raid Corsica (June 2012)
The
Raid Corsica is a 1000km tour of the island in 7 days,
starting and finishing in the coastal town of Bastia.
Although the mountains are not as high as the Pyrenees
or Alps the continuous undulations make this a tough
randonnee. However if you have completed the Raid Pyreneen & Alpine
then you should have no trouble.
The Raid Pyrenean (France) (June 2012)
The
Raid Pyrenean is a 714km randonnée across
the back bone of the Pyrenees connecting the town of Hendaye
on the Bay of Biscay with Cerbere on the Mediterranean.
The route takes you over many of the cols which feature
so prominently in the Tour de France, including the Tourmalet, Aubisque,
Marie Blanc, Aspin, and Peyresourde.
The Raid
Alpine (July/August 2012)
The Raid
Alpine is the sister randonnée to the Raid Pyreneen. This fantastic cycling holiday is a 740km
traverse of the Alps from Thonon-les-Bains (Lake Geneva) to Antibes
(Mediterranean coast). Like the Raid Pyreneen the route takes you
over many of the cols which feature so prominently in the Tour
de France, including the Iseran, Mont Cenis, Izoard, Vars, Restefond
(highest col in Europe).
