Le Tour de Switzerland 2014 Cycling Holiday
13th to 19th July 2014
New for 2014, Sports Tours International are pleased to announce that we can offer travel packages with guaranteed entry for the inaugural amateur Tour de Switzerland. The 2014 edition will be held in the middle of July starting in Zurich on the 13th of July and finishing on the 19th July back in Zurich on the velodrome.
Le Tour de Switzerland 2014 will take up to 600 cyclists from over 20 countries through the beautiful mountains of the German and Italian-speaking parts of the Alps taking in no less than 15 mythical cols and covering a total of 850kms.
Team cars, moto outriders, a fully signposted route, official timing each day and daily animations including the ceremony for the leader's jersey, you will feel like a pro on this tour. This cycling challenge is fully supported with all hotels, food and support included so you can focus on riding your bike each day.
With both a start and finish in the velodrome of Zurich-Oerlikon, Le Tour de Switzerland 2014 will also pass through a further 6 host towns and will take in some of Switzerland's most spectacular scenery. Le Tour de Switzerland will be an unforgettable experience for both amateur and experienced cyclists alike.
Please note: You will need to bring with you copy of a medical certificate signed by your Doctor in order to take part in the Tour de Switzerland.
Saturday 12th July: Arrival day
Today we are providing an airport transfer from Zurich airport to our hotel in Zurich.
Please notify us of your flight details at the time of booking or as soon as your flights are booked.
Alternatively you can make your own way to our hotel in Zurich. On arrival in Zurich, we will have a track pump and tools ready for you to put your bike together. After the evening meal our Sports Tours staff will do a briefing and you can also get to know your fellow riders for the week.

Sunday 13th July: Day 1: Zurich to Vaduz - 105km with 930m of climbing
After an early breakfast, we set of on the Tour de Switzerland 2014. Today's climbs take in the Rickenpass and the Wildhaus. The evenings finishes at our hotel in Vaduz followed by an evening meal.
Monday 14th July: Day 2: Vaduz to St Moritz - 125km with 2363m of climbing
Today's climbs take in the Lutzisteig, Lenzerheide and the Albula. The evenings finishes at our hotel in St.Moritz followed by an evening meal.
Tuesday 15th July: Day 3: St Moritz to Andermatt - 160km with 1384m of climbing
Today's climbs take in the Julier and the Oberalp. The evenings finishes at our hotel in Andermatt followed by an evening meal.
Wednesday 16th July: Day 4: Andermatt to Grindelwald - 95km with 2545m of climbing
Today's climbs take in the Furka, Grimsel and the Grosse Scheiddegg. The evenings finishes at our hotel in Grindelwald followed by an evening meal.
Thursday 17th July: Day 5: Grindelwald to Luzern - 130km with 1809m of climbing
Today's climbs take in the Brunig, the Glaubenbulenpass and the Bramegg. The evenings finishes at our hotel in Luzern followed by an evening meal.
Friday 18th July: Day 6: Luzern to Basel - 120km with 682m of climbing
Today's climbs take in the Passwang and the Nunninsgerberg. The evenings finishes at our hotel in Basel followed by an evening meal.
Saturday 19th July: Day 7: Basel to Zurich - 100km with 165m of climbing
For our final day's riding, we ride over the Regensburg and end back in Zurich doing a lap of the velodrome then head to our Hotel for our final night and celebratory meal.
Sunday 20th July: Departure day
Today we will be running transfers back to the airport in time for your return flight.

The price is £1,739 per person based on the double occupancy of a double or twin bed room.
Single supplement is £529 per person.
Twin to share:
If you would like to join us as a single traveller but you want to avoid the single supplement then you can make use of our 'twin to share' option.
We will pair you up with another rider (of the same sex) and you can enjoy the event without having to pay extra. Simply click on the green button and select the twin to share option.

At time of booking we require a non-refundable deposit per person plus any applicable entry fee. The balance of your travel package must be paid, at the latest, 12 weeks before departure to avoid the cancellation of your trip.
Visas are not required to enter Switzerland. You need a passport. As a British passport holder you may stay as a visitor for three months. General Travel Information is available also.
All other non-UK passport holders must check their own country's entry requirements for Switzerland.
