The Andy Cook Training Camp 2008 (Majorca)

29th February to 14th March 2008

By far one of the best escorted training camps available, with experienced guides for all groups, back up vehicle, top mechanic, top speakers to cover diet, training and other subjects, and any number of guest riders attending (Geoff Thomas (former England and Crystal Palace footballer) and Malcolm Elliott in 2006, but to name a couple).

The formula is simple: a lot of keen cyclists – over 70 last year – a group of very able and cheerful guides to look after all standards, well prepared routes and maps, van back-up, top advice from leading cyclists as well as experts from Science in Sport, a first class resort, great food and bags of social activity.

There is a whole team of experienced riders taking out groups for different distances, speeds and degree of difficulty – so from club rider to beginner there will be a group for you, but don’t be surprised if you suddenly realize you have clocked up a 1,000km without even noticing..

Who’s it For?
All levels of cyclist are accommodated – club riders can ride off the front through the mountain routes or sit back in one of the medium pace groups for a rest day. Those of moderate ability will have a number of groups to move in and out of and the slower groups allow novices to get used to riding on consecutive days in a ‘tour’ situation. The flat terrain around Pollentia and Alcudia allow beginners to get a feel for riding with others and can venture into main groups riding into the hills when confidence is gained.

The choice of rides will vary from anything between 20 and 75 miles (occasionally longer) each day and the pace between 10-15 mph, with the lead groups occasionally faster (and even further), depending on the group.
