Long Distance Bike Camp - Club La Santa
14th to 20th June 2013
Club La Santa brings you the Long distance bike camp with Laurent Sillion held at the No 1 sports and activities resort on the beautiful island of Lanzarote.
This camp is designed to help you prepare for big events such as L´Etape du Tour and La Marmotte which take place in Europe during the months of July and August. It is the perfect time to get the last hard work done before you decide to challenge yourself in a race.
However, if you just enjoy riding your bike without any goal, this is an opportunity to get some kilometers in your legs in the dramatic volcanic landscape of the island of Lanzarote.
Training:
We will have different groups lead by guides who will set the pace at different speeds (from 24 km/h to 30+ km/h). The rolling landscape will give you plenty of challenges - only a few bikers can achieve the same speeds as at home. You will also test yourself against the hard climbs of Tabayesco and Femes – a climb out of category, and find out just how prepared you are! Once we reach the top there will be time for a short break with refreshments.
Camp Registration and travel arrangements:
The camp is restricted to guests staying at Club La Santa during the event. Pre-registration is required as we have a limited number of participants. The price for the week is 125 Euros including all activities during the Bike week, support car, sandwiches and refreshments on long rides, t-shirt and a dinner in the restaurant “La Casa”.The full payment for the camp will take place in the welcome meeting upon arrival in Club La Santa. You can register direct for the camp on clublasanta.com
Instructor:
Laurent Sillion, leader of this Long Distance Bike Camp, has been working at Club La Santa since 1994. From March 2006 he has been organizing the popular Club La Santa Bike Weeks in co-operation with the Event Week Coordinator. Laurent has 30 years experience of cycling and MTB including some years of A-Level/advanced amateur level cycling in both Lanzarote and his home country, France.
