International Bike Weeks with Rolf Aldag, Tom Kristensen, Gunnar Asmussen, Herman "The Artist" & Lars Bak - 26th Oct 2012 to 9th Nov 2012

Like a wine improves as the years pass by, so do the International Bike Weeks at Club La Santa, Lanzarote. For more than 11 consecutive years, we have staged the International Bike Weeks and of course 2012 will be no exception.

Once again we have the privilege to host the very popular International Bike Weeks at Club La Santa, where the well-known hosts, together with the Green Team cycling guides, will lead you through the wonderful and scenic volcanic landscape on Lanzarote. If you want a cycling holiday, where you can push yourself and also relax and have fun, then this is the cycling holiday for you.

Training
We will have 3-4 different cycling groups, all lead by a host and a guide, which will go at different speeds (from 21 km/h to 30+ km/h). This means that there will be a suitable cycling group for everybody. The slowest cycling group is called Herman’s Cappucino-group and it will go 21-23 km/h. The landscape on Lanzarote is very rough, which gives the bikers lots of challenges, and only a few riders can achieve the same speed as at home.

On Lanzarote you can find lots of very challenging cycling climbs. Mainly Tabayesco and Femes – a climb out of category, which will show how well prepared you are and also test your legs. Once we cycle to the top, there will be time for a small break with refreshments. It is not unusual that the cyclists have completed about 950 km and had many great experiences and challenges after the bike weeks.

The programme also contains other activities as well as cycling. We will have the popular Pool tournament and different lectures with the guides. We finish the week with a celebration dinner in the restaurant ”La Casa”, where different prizes are handed out. Companions can participate for the price of 24 euros for a 3 course menu and ½ bottle of wine.

The Team

Rolf will participate in a part of the bike weeks.

Herman Reichold is a German-Italian artist and is known for his abstract paintings in Germany, Lanzarote and around Europe. Herman has only been biking for around 10 years, but he is a highly respected biker – according to Rolf Aldag. Herman is the leader of the ”Cappuccino-group” during the bike weeks.

Tom Kristensen, 8 times winner of 24 hours Le Mans (Record) – The most famous motor race in the world. Tom has been driving all kinds of racing cars with great success throughout his career.
