Graham Baxter Training Camps - March 2010

COSTA BLANCA, SPAIN, FOR RACING, SPORTIVES AND TOURING/LEISURE RIDING

6th to 20th March 2010

Why not have a week’s cycling holiday and a week’s cycling training at the same time?

All our 2010 Cycling Preparation & Training camps are based on the Spanish mainland of the Costa Blanca.

The Costa Blanca is arguably the best place in Europe to base your pre season cycling training. It is a known fact that the weather is much warmer at this time of year than other European destinations, and is the reason why many of the top professional teams use the area for their pre season training. The roads are of good quality and there is a choice of either coastal, hilly and even mountainous rides, with some roads going to 1,200 meters.

Our Cycling Preparation & Training camps will run throughout the month of March and you can choose which weeks suit you best.
All levels of cyclist will be accommodated for and each week we shall have groups for racing cyclists, cyclo sportive riders and those that want more leisurely cycle riding.

Graham Baxter:
Sports Tours International’s very own Graham Baxter, the 2008 UK National Cycling Vets Champ (40 – 45 years) and Bronze medalist 2008 Cycling Masters World Championships will be present throughout the cycling training camp to lead rides, give advice and chair the seminars. He has over 16 years experience of running training camps on the Costa Blanca and over 12 years experience of the Etape du Tour, and is a valuable asset to the cycling training camp.

The Albir Garden:
The hotel complex is set in beautiful gardens and also includes a heated indoor swimming pool, gym, tennis court, launderette and conference room.
Each apartment is modern and equipped with a twin bedroom, separate lounge with double sofa bed, bathroom, kitchen, and balcony. Prices are for 2 or 3 persons sharing an apartment

Racing Cyclists rides will be led by current racing cyclists including our very own current UK Vets National Champion Graham Baxter and will be aimed at those cyclists who are preparing for the 2008 racing season

Cyclo Sportive rides will be aimed at preparing riders for completing an Etape du Tour or Gran Fondo cyclo sportive event. They will be run at a slower pace than the racing cyclist rides. Two days in the week there will be a mountainous ride over an Etape type route. Graham Baxter will also lead some of these rides.
